These elementary school percussionists goddamn own these Led Zeppelin songs

The Louisville Leopard Percussionists are an extracurricular performing group for kids ages 7-12 in Kentucky. Back in November, they embraced their inner rock gods and covered three Led Zeppelin songs on xylophone, vibraphone, marimba, and various drums. The kids impressively rock out on “Kashmir,” “The Ocean,” and “Immigrant Song,” and have garnered over a million views on YouTube. But the group got even close to rock stardom over the weekend when they got the ultimate endorsement:

It’s a rare thing indeed for a cover band to get the blessing of the original artist. But now legions of bar bands with names like Zoso, Achilles’ Last Band, and Wolfmother will have to live with the knowledge that they’ve been bested by a roomful of mallet-wielding elementary school kids. Watching those kids in action is immensely entertaining, but be aware that you’ll never be able to go to your own kids’ band concert without wanting to raise your lighter to salute “The Immigrant Song.”
