Things are looking grim for Sit Down, Shut Up—FOX shuffles its timeslot
There are only three remaining episodes scheduled this season for Sit Down, Shut Up—not to mention only two have aired—but FOX is already giving it a new timeslot. The freshman animated comedy, from showrunner Mitch Hurwitz, will now air at 6 p.m. CST on Sundays, followed by a rerun of American Dad, followed by the remaining Animation Domination line-up as it was a few weeks ago. Yes, King Of The Hill is back—or, as the Hollywood Reporter puts it, the show will "ride to the rescue."
This looks like the end for Sit Down, Shut Up. The network couldn't even find it in its heart to give the show the 6:30 p.m. CST slot; so now that it's not really part of the full line-up, it's doubtful anyone will be able to track it down. It's a shame: Given some time, the show could have developed into a refreshingly different piece of the Animation Domination whole. (The next shake-up is coming this fall with The Cleveland Show, which promises to be more of the same.) In any case, even though these first few episodes haven't been well received, it feels too early to give up entirely. But such is the way of the FOX.
