Like pretty much every person with taste, Bay Area resident Elliot Lim is a huge fan of The Wire. Unlike most people, though, Lim is an extremely talented professional animator and designer. Now, Lim has combined his gifts and his Wire fandom to make an animated tribute to the series.
Set to The Blind Boys Of Alabama’s version of “Way Down In The Hole,” which was the theme for season one, the tribute seamlessly blends elements from all five of seasons of the show. It jumps from season-one robberies to season-three murders to season-five overdoses using a series of super slick transitions. Lim even manages to include little details like the name of the ship from season two.
