This great new Split Single video is an homage to Marathon Man
We’ve been ardently in favor of Split Single in the past 12 months, positively reviewing the band’s debut album and inviting them in to cover TV On The Radio. The band is the brainchild of Jason Narducy, a Chicagoan with the sexiest elbows in rock who’s also a touring member of Superchunk and Bob Mould’s band. Just today, Narducy released a video for the title track from Fragmented World, a sunny pop number that nods a bit to Guided By Voices. (Did we mention that Narducy was also a touring member of Robert Pollard’s band for a while? He was.) The video is an homage to the classic 1976 Dustin Hoffman movie Marathon Man, in which Hoffman’s character is abducted and tortured by Nazis, who think he has information that he actually doesn’t. One of the Nazis in the video is played by Jay Ryan, the artist (and bassist!) responsible for the A.V. Undercover backdrop. Watch ‘til the end for a little blooper featuring Ryan and Narducy. Split Single will play SPACE in Evanston (which is like Chicago, but different) on Friday, February 6.
