This is a great week to give Divorce a try
Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Sunday, February 18. All times are Eastern.
Divorce (HBO, 10 p.m.): The first season of Divorce was enjoyable and a bit dark, as Frances (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Robert (Thomas Haden Church) moved toward the inevitable dissolution of their marriage. Now that the two have officially split, season two is ironically more light-hearted, as the ex-spouses navigate their post-divorce lives, and their post-divorce relationship with each other. Everything comes to a head in some sexual hijinks this week, now that Robert is dating Jackie (Becki Newton) and Frances is with Andrew (Steven Pasquale). It’s a fun episode, so a good one to check out if you’re interested in sticking your toe into Divorce waters, so soon after Valentine’s Day.
Regular coverage
Here And Now (HBO, 9 p.m.)

The Chi (Showtime, 10 p.m.)
Wild cards
The Joel McHale Show With Joel McHale (Netflix)/Last Week Tonight With John Oliver (HBO, 11 p.m.): If you’re looking for an enjoyable way to traverse the notoriously thorny political climate, tonight you have two options. Joel McHale returns to TV in a weekly Netflix series reminiscent of his E! series The Soup, as they’re really pushing his love of the old green screen. Another familiar face returns to TV this week as well, as Last Week Tonight With John Oliver starts season number five. Since McHale is streaming, and Oliver is not, why not catch them both? Late-night expert Dennis Perkins will be checking in with Joel McHale tonight.
