Comic books are renowned for their interconnecting worlds and their flashy battles—but also, apparently, their corporate synergy. Just in time for the end of Comics Week here at The A.V. Club, Empire Flippers has put together a detailed infographic of all the fictional businesses within the Marvel universe.
From R&D companies to restaurants to law firms to newspapers, the map charts the places Spider-Man, the X-Men, and the Avengers work, fight, and relax across the country. But more than anything, it highlights the fact that the expansive Marvel universe is surprisingly self-contained. While there’s plenty of activity on the East Coast, this map suggests there are barely any relevant Marvel locations in the Midwest. Apparently, even big cities like Chicago and St. Louis are just considered flyovers when you have a Quinjet.
