This Ninja Turtles Airbnb isn’t in a sewer, so it’s obviously just a marketing ploy
Consumers are always finding new ways to avoid seeing advertisements like pop-up ads (browser extensions), commercials (cord-cutting services), and even billboards (blindfolds). This opting-out has left the marketing teams for studios and networks everywhere scrambling for alternate ways to force-feed you their message. Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice hit its “Dada phase” last fall with a Forbes interview of Jesse Eisenberg in character as Lex Luthor, and promotion for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues saw Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) embedded in a real-life local news station.
The latest example of this insidious strategy is a marketing ploy for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows, which is offering up the Turtles’ “lair” on Airbnb for anyone who wants to get away from the grind to do some grinding. The listing, which is embedded below, is for a Tribeca loft that boasts bunk beds, a basketball hoop, “Donnie’s equipment” (whatever that is), and a big screen TV. No alcohol or drugs allowed, but pizza is more than welcome.
