This Will Destroy You fights off “Sleep” on an unreleased track from its debut album

According to lore, when This Will Destroy You first released Young Mountain it was meant it was a modest six-song demo that members would sell after shows. Through a stroke of luck, it grabbed the attention of Magic Bullet Records, the label that spit-shined it and sent it out into the world as the band’s proper debut. 10 years later, Magic Bullet is reissuing the album, this time with an extra track that was omitted from Young Mountain’s original release. The A.V. Club is streaming “Sleep” below, which is one of the most concise pieces the band compiled for the record. It’s a short, sweeping song that offers a glimpse at the larger peaks found throughout Young Mountain proper.
