This year’s Peabody Award TV nominees include Atlanta, Stranger Things, and Luke Cage
The Peabody Awards continue to confirm your abiding good taste in TV, recognizing Stranger Things, Luke Cage, and Atlanta among this year’s crop of nominations. This is the second year in a row one of Netflix’s Marvel shows has gotten the nod, with Jessica Jones taking an award home in 2016.
As usual, the Peabody nominating committee spread its picks between more and less well known shows. Louis CK’s uber-independent Horace & Pete made the cut, for instance, as did the British crime drama Happy Valley and SundanceTV’s Cleverman. The strangest entry on the list might be Beyoncé’s Lemonade, which presumably qualified through its broadcast on HBO. But, then, the Peabodys have never been terribly picky about things like format, especially when demonstrable quality is on the line. You can see the full list below:
