Thom Yorke: Atoms For Peace LP "not good enough yet" (oh, and Radiohead will start working on a new record soon)
Thom Yorke recently chatted with Rolling Stone's David Fricke about his current creative endeavors, which at the moment mostly involve his long-in-the-works album with the side project Atoms For Peace. The record, which also features Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and long-time Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, will hopefully be finished by the end of the year, but Yorke confesses that "it's not good enough yet." Yorke and Godrich "were excited about it for so long, then we kind of lost our way. So we're taking some steps back."
As Yorke tries to figure out how (or possibly if he should try) to finish the Atoms For Peace album, he's also planning to re-enter the studio with Radiohead in December and January. He divulged the name of one song, "Come To Your Senses," which currently exists as a five-minute rehearsal recording, "but it has the essence of what we need." Yorke previously announced that Radiohead will tour next year, and the band will likely play new songs at those shows. [Via Rolling Stone]
