Thom Yorke predicts the music industry will collapse in "a matter of months"

Having successfully vanquished the music business by proving that self-releasing your own albums on a pay-what-you-want price structure is a feasible model to follow for any wildly internationally popular band with several major releases to their credit, Radiohead’s Thom Yorke has kicked things up a notch, declaring that he believes the entire music industry will collapse upon itself in “a matter of months.” Yorke was being interviewed for a new high-school textbook called The Rax Active Citizen—which, oddly enough, is all about “helping 15- and 16-year-olds become more politically literate—when he made the comments, during which he advised all aspiring musicians not to climb aboard the “sinking ship” that is the business, while also saying that the end of the music industry will be “no great loss to the world.” Anyone currently working in the music industry is advised to start stockpiling weapons and melting down their fillings immediately.
