Thom Yorke will release another solo album next year

According to Spanish outlet El Mundo (via Consequence Of Sound), Thom Yorke is getting ready to release another solo album. Well, he actually said he’s “trying to finish” it, but he’s planning/hoping to have it done by 2019. As for what we can expect from the album, Yorke says he tried not to make music that was explicitly “politically charged,” but “everything I do goes that way anyways.” The album will also be “very electronic” and different from anything else Yorke has done, at least according to him, and the recording process has involved a lot of going back and remixing or breaking down tracks to rebuild them in new ways with a lot of improvised sounds.

Yorke’s last solo album, Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes, came out in 2014. The next place you’ll be able to hear his work is on the soundtrack to Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria remake. Now that the witchy stuff is out of the way, he can go back to “trying to finish” this one.
