Thomas Jane to star in another Stephen King adaptation

Thomas Jane has already starred in two Stephen King adaptations (one good, one less good), but now he’s adding another notch to his Stephen King belt with a movie version of the novella 1922. That comes from The Hollywood Reporter, which says relative newcomer Zak Hilditch will direct from a screenplay he also wrote, with Netflix producing the adaptation. The original story is about a man who gradually becomes more and more unhinged after killing his wife, forcing his son—who was complicit in the murder—to help weave intricate lies about her disappearance. Eventually, he begins to believe that killer rats and the ghost of his wife are stalking him, which just makes things worse.

Jane will play the guy, Wilfred James, with Molly Parker plaing his wife. Dylan Schmid, Kaitlyn Bernard, Brian D’Arcy James, and Neal McDonough will also appear. This is Netflix’s second Stephen King adaptation currently in development, as the streaming service also picked up a movie version of Gerald’s Game earlier this year.
