American Tarzan (Discovery Channel, 10 p.m.): From sharks to ape men—you do you, Discovery. “On a remote Caribbean island, seven challengers will take on Mother Nature’s most brutal obstacle course. Their goal: to not only survive the wild, but to master it.” Wait, this actually sounds entertaining. “In an epic journey through four distinct terrains; the jungle, coast, mountains and canyons, these men and women must live completely off the land, while tackling the most punishing obstacles on earth. They will face conditions that early inhabitants tackled hundreds of years ago, relying on nothing more than basic tools, mental toughness and brute strength.” Unpleasant for everyone involved, but really entertaining.
Cleverman (Sundance, 10 p.m.): Cleverman’s first season finale is “Terra Nullius.” Oh, you want more than just that to chew on? Fine. “As the Containment Authority prepares to clear the city of Hairypeople, Koen must finally face his destiny as the Cleverman.” (By the way, “Terra Nullius” translates from Latin into “nobody’s land.” Just a little fun fact.)
Royal Pains (USA, 10 p.m.): Say goodbye to these! “These,” in this particular instance, just so happen to be all of these royal pains. You know—because the show’s called Royal Pains. Anyway: “Boris, who is planning to leave the Hamptons, asks Hank to join him; Hank contemplates life changes; Evan and Paige consider a life-altering decision; and Divya receives long-awaited news.” It’s the end of an era at USA, as characters are apparently no longer as welcome as they once were. Oh well. At least we’ll always have this:
Premieres and finales
America’s Got Talent (NBC, 8 p.m.): It’s that time of the America’s Got Talent season, everyone: time for the “Best Of Auditions.” This is a time-slot premiere, thus the inclusion in this What’s On Tonight, but if you haven’t been watching this season of AGT (and that’s something you regret), you can’t go wrong with a refresher course. You’re welcome.
Duck Dynasty (A&E, 9 p.m.): Welcome to the 10th season premiere of Duck Dynasty. Yes, that’s a real thing. Ten seasons of Duck Dynasty. And look, it’s “Willie & Korie’s Anniversary!” Their 40th anniversary, even, which is even more years than 10 seasons of Duck Dynasty. We think. Time no longer has meaning. Please don’t make your friendly neighborhood What’s On Tonight contributor watch a Duck Dynasty.
Hollywood Divas (TV One, 9 p.m.): TV One’s Hollywood Divas’ third season premieres with “Out With The Old, In With The New.” Let’s see how these grown women/working actresses are doing tonight: “In the Season 3 premiere, Golden hosts a party, but Paula is not invited, leading to a confrontation between the two.” Well, “divas” is in the title.
Wahlburgers (A&E, 10 p.m.): Wahlburgers’ fifth season begins with “Paul-itics” (ugh): “Donnie sets up a vote to crown Alma’s favorite son, but the campaigning gets out of control. Elsewhere: Mark plays in the AT&T Pro Am with Bubba Watson and tries to psych out his competitors.” By the way, after this is Wahlburgers: Extra Helping (ugh), in which “Donnie and Mark prank Paul” and “Alma tries to find a gift for Donnie’s girlfriend.” Wait, Donnie is married. To Jenny McCarthy. Did Wahlburgers: Extra Helping just break an affair scandal?
Tyrant (FX, 10 p.m.): FX series (no, really) Tyrant returns for its third season (seriously) with “Spring”: “With Jamal’s life in danger and Abuddin on the verge of plunging into chaos, Barry steps forward as interim president and sets the stage for democratic elections. Daliyah takes a leading role in the nation, bringing her close to Barry. Swept up in the tides of revenge, army leaders overstep their bounds in securing peace. An American General who shares history with Leila arrives in Abuddin.” That all sounds pretty Tyrant-y.
