Thurston Moore forms new band with members of Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine
It’s usually best to keep busy in the wake of a break-up, and Thurston Moore has passed most of his time with new music projects. Since the end of his marriage to Kim Gordon in 2011—and Sonic Youth along with it—Thurston Moore has formed and released an album with Sonic Youth semi-surrogate Chelsea Light Moving, joined a metal supergroup, and is also reportedly working on a new solo album called The Best Day.
Thurston Moore’s latest project, simply named Thurston Moore Band, is bound to excite fans even more. Thurston Moore has enlisted Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley, My Bloody Valentine bassist Debbie Googe, and multiple-contest-winning British guitarist James Sedwards. The group is set to go on a worldwide three-month tour starting in August.
