Tia Mowry is still trying to make a Sister, Sister revival happen

Tia Mowry has been pitching the idea of bringing back Sister, Sister for some time now, but the twin sitcom has not yet joined the ever-growing parade of reboots gracing our screens. However, in a new interview with Nylon, Mowry insisted that she’s still working on reviving the comedy that she starred in along with her sister Tamera. “We’re looking, right now, for a producer and a writer, someone who can kind of be a leader of the pack in regards to running the show,” she explained. “I thought people would kind of be jumping on it, but it’s a lot harder than my sister and I thought it would be. Everything in my career has always been a challenge.” She added that the project is not “dead in any kind of way.”

So who is going to step up and help give us the continued adventures of Tia Landry and Tamera Campbell? Maybe Larry Wilmore, who wrote for the original series, will step up—that is, if he has the time. The former Nightly Show host is, after all, gearing up for a second season of Issa Rae’s Insecure, which he co-created. He’s also an executive producer for Black-ish, and has lined up a new gig at ABC (which, incidentally, was Sister, Sister’s original network).
