Bojack Horseman’s freewheeling, kaleidoscopic union of man and animal is reimagined in Tuca & Bertie, a new Netflix series from Lisa Hanawalt, a producer and production designer on the streamer’s animated hit. Taking the lead, however, are a pair of avian millennials coming into adulthood in an absurd world.

Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong headline the 10-episode debut season, which is said to follow “two 30-year-old bird women who live in the same apartment building: Tuca (Haddish), a cocky, care-free toucan, and Bertie (Wong), an anxious, daydreaming songbird.” Steven Yeun co-stars alongside a vibrant guest slate that combines Bojack alums Tessa Thompson, Jermaine Fowler, and Nicole Byer with fresh voices like Tig Notaro, Reggie Watts, Amber Ruffin, John Early, and goddamned Richard E. Grant.

The series will perch upon your Netflix queue on May 3.
