Tim Gunn is getting his own show on Lifetime
Lifetime is going to try and make Tim Gunn work a little more. The network is expanding the Project Runway franchise into a whole new series, Under The Gunn, which sounds like a blend of Runway and The Voice. Gunn will host the show, which will pair semi-notable ex-Runway contestants Mondo Guerra, Anya Ayoung-Chee, and Nick Verreos with their own five-person teams of struggling young designers. Guerra, Ayoung-Chee, and Verreos will act as fashion mentors to the designers, who will be competing to win Under The Gunn and go home with whatever corporate-sponsored prizes it can scrape together. Judges include designer Rachel Roy, celebrity stylist Jen Rade, and fashion writer Zanna Roberts Rassi.
The show will start shooting this month in Los Angeles at the Fashion Institute Of Design And Merchandising. It premieres on Lifetime Jan. 16.
