Tim Meadows joins Lonely Island’s boy band movie, now called Conner4real
According to Deadline, Saturday Night Live alum Tim Meadows is joining Lonely Island’s upcoming movie about boy band reunions, formerly known as The Lonely Island Presents: Top Secret Untitled Lonely Island Movie but now officially titled Conner4real. Meadows is set to play Conner’s overworked, yet ever-cheerful manager. Conner will be played by fellow SNL vet Andy Samberg, as a former boy band star who attempts to break out on his own as a serious rapper, only to fail miserably and come crawling back to his former bandmates.
Conner4real is being described as a parody of saccharine pop-star documentaries like Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never and Katy Perry’s Part Of Me. Samberg’s fellow Lonely Island troupers Jorma Taccone and Akiva Shaffer are co-starring in and co-directing Conner4real.
If Samberg’s rap-career downfall has a ring of authenticity to it, it may be because he originally blazed this trail on SNL as “Blizzard Man,” a hip-hop artist who knows how to warm up a studio mic and pick out a fly wardrobe, but is “here to say” he’s an abysmally poor rapper:
