It’s important to note, before you watch it, that this oddball teaser video for Tim Burton’s upcoming adaptation of Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children doesn’t show you a single frame of what you can expect from the movie. What it does do, however, is provide anyone who’s read the book with a nice little reminder of “Loop Day,” a key plot point, and teases a key aspect of the narrative for anyone who hasn’t read it. (Spoiler alert, you could argue, though this suggests the film’s marketing won’t exactly make that element of the story a secret.) The book revolves around Jacob, a young boy who is left clues by his grandfather about a mysterious orphanage that houses extraordinary children. Getting there is one adventure, but what happens once he arrives is something else entirely. Starring Asa Butterfield, Eva Green, Allison Janney, and Terence Stamp, the film will time its arrival in theaters to March 4, 2016.
