Timothée Chalamet breaks it to Stephen Colbert that Steve Carell is now an internet "sex icon"

Rising star Timothée Chalamet—of last year’s critical darling Call Me By Your Name, and the recent addiction drama Beautiful Boy—has come a long way in the last few years, but he hasn’t quite reached the point in his development toward superstardom where he can breeze his way through a big late-night interview segment like it’s no big deal. That’s something that became adorably clear last night, when the 22-year-old Chalamet went on Stephen Colbert’s Late Show and just sort of charmingly unraveled, talking about his encounters with creepy foot fetishists, describing Colbert’s own old comedy bits back to him, and, in a notable moment, describing his attempts to convince co-star (and Colbert’s old buddy) Steve Carell that he’s now a “sex icon.”

For what it’s worth, Colbert seemed understandably amused by the whole thing, even if he did look a little uncomfortable at the idea that his old Second City pal has now entered the “internet silver fox thirst meme” portion of his career. “Timothée, I hate to break it to you,” Colbert drolly noted, “But there are some memes about you online, too.”

Anyway, we’re going to be spending the rest of our day looking at old Dana Carvey Show clips now, so we might as well get started with this look back at two sexy, nauseous men:
