Tina Fey and Fortune Feimster are developing another sitcom together
Apparently the shuttering of Cabot College didn’t hurt Fortune Feimster and Tina Fey too badly, because the duo (along with Fey’s 30 Rock co-collaborators Matt Hubbard and Robert Carlock) has apparently decided to quit college sitcoms and go into the semi-autobiographical sitcom business, a move that will save them a fortune in sitcom student loans. The Hollywood Reporter says that ABC has emerged triumphant in a bidding war for Feimster, Fey and company’s new project, purchasing a script with penalty commitment.
The as-yet-untitled multi-camera sitcom will star Feimster and take place in her home state of North Carolina; as the savvy reader might deduce from these two bits of information as well as several other contextual clues, the show will be based on Feimster’s life, specifically her family life as expressed through her stand-up comedy. A former Chelsea Lately writer, Feimster debuted a half-hour Comedy Central stand-up special earlier this year.
