Deadwood and Sons Of Anarchy bad guy Titus Welliver has landed his first series lead role. Welliver has signed on to play the title character in Amazon’s first drama pilot, Bosch. The police procedural is based on Michael Connelly’s novels and details the struggles of a veteran homicide detective working in the Los Angeles Police Department. Connelly also wrote the book that inspired last year’s Matthew McConaughey adaptation The Lincoln Lawyer.
There’s no public timeline for when filming or airing of the show will start right now, as Welliver is currently busy with Transformers 4.
