TMNT 2’s Bebop sojourns alone no longer; Rocksteady has been cast
The history of fiction is studded with inescapable pairings, unbreakable duos who dare the very fates to tear their love asunder. Now, the greatest of them all—at least, of those who also happen to be goo-afflicted malcontents with zoo animal DNA—have been reunited, as IGN reports that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 has found the Rocksteady to stand beside its Bebop.
WWE wrestler Sheamus has joined the sequel’s cast as the rhinoseroid Rosenkrantz to Gary Anthony Williams’ porcine Guildenstern, with set photos showing the two together in their non-mutated form. Sheamus also tweeted a photo of himself with Williams and new Shredder Brian Tee, all looking surprisingly cheerful for a group of men whose job it is to be pummeled by CGI chelonians.
Sheamus (whose real name is Stephen Farrelly) is no stranger to cartoonish violence, given that his day job already involves grabbing people and administering something called “The Beats Of The Bodhrán,” to their chests. But TMNT 2 will be the former WWE Heavyweight Champion’s first acting role, both in general and as a bipedal rhinoceros, and it remains to be seen how he handles the coveted man-rhino throne last vacated by Paul Giamatti in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
