Displaying an unwavering commitment to buffed nails and buff surfers alike, TNT has given season-three renewals to Claws and Animal Kingdom.
Though their core casts couldn’t be more different—Ellen Barkin is the lone woman in Animal Kingdom’s main ensemble, while Claws has five female leads—there’s plenty of common ground between the shows. Both series boast ridiculously personable casts, have established a great sense of place (on opposite coasts), and feature sun-soaked misadventures in criminal enterprises. Claws and Animal Kingdom have also, according to a Turner press release, defied the odds and expanded their viewer base in their respective second seasons, where other returning series have seen a downturn in ratings.
