Sons Of Anarchy writer/producer Chris Collins (who's also written for The Wire and Star Wars: The Clone Wars), is developing a new action series for TNT. Called Anonymous, it tells the story of a special-ops soldier who discovers a global conspiracy that puts him on the run from his former bosses. He goes off the grid, and dedicates himself to helping those in need. Which we're pretty sure is also the plot of The A-Team. Let's see if we can finesse that description a bit:
In 2012 a crack commando was sent to prison by a vast global conspiracy for a crime he didn't commit. This man promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, he survives as a soldier of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him… you might just hire… the A…nonymous… guy.
Okay, it needs a tiny bit of work. But until we hear otherwise, we're going to assume Anonymous' main character will simultaneously be a cigar-chomping master of disguise, a smooth-talking con artist, a mentally unbalanced helicopter pilot, and a gold-chains-wearing tough guy, and that every episode will involve him turning the bedsprings of his jail cell cot into a crossbow to make his escape, so he can bust up some small-time mobsters by firing a machine gun in a wide arc that doesn't hit anybody. Yes, it's possible that's not what the show will be about, but until it actually airs, we're going to keep our hopes up, as we love it when a plan comes together.
