Today, in airline PR nightmares: United flies ScHoolboy Q’s dog to the wrong city
As far as airline PR person nightmare scenarios go, “accidentally putting 2,000 miles between a famous rapper and his cute new dog” probably falls somewhere in the middle, below stuff like “physically assaulting your passengers” or “scorpion surprise,” but definitely above running out of snacks, or the usual, non-dog-based luggage complaints. So United Airlines was presumably nearly as upset as rapper ScHoolboy Q himself was when he went to pick up his French bulldog puppy, Yeeerndamean, from the baggage claim at Burbank airport yesterday, only to find another dog in his place.
Q—who’s a member of the Kendrick Lamar-containing supergroup Black Hippy, and whose major label debut, Oxymoron, netted a nomination for Best Rap Album at the 2015 Grammys—expressed his online outrage at the airline, who’d apparently sent the puppy to Chicago instead of California during a layover in Denver. The airline has assured the rapper that the dog is being cared for while the situation is being worked out, but that doesn’t appear to have quenched his ire; he reportedly texted CNN, “My little dog been moving around since the A.M., prolly has pee and number 2 all in his cage smh….I plan on suing.”
