Following yesterday's report that Jay Reatard died from cocaine toxicity (with help from alcohol), news comes from CNN and MSNBC today that actress Brittany Murphy died of "acquired pneumonia," with anemia and "multiple drug intoxication" cited as contributing factors. In this case, those were prescription drugs, though the coroner declined to elaborate. The death has been ruled accidental.
Murphy, 32, died Dec. 20 after collapsing at home.
