Today in "Bill Murray is not doing Ghostbusters 3" news: Bill Murray is not doing Ghostbusters 3
In a story that we have written with slight variation seemingly every month for the past couple of years, until it has become woven into the very folklore of our nation and will someday be handed down, ancestor to descendant, until our great-great-grandchildren have transformed it into a nursery rhyme wherein its original meaning is all but lost to the ages, Dan Aykroyd is making Ghostbusters 3 and Bill Murray is not involved. Aykroyd said as much, again, in a recent interview with Metro wherein he flatly said, "I can tell you [Murray] won't be involved"—adding a note of finality and acceptance to what Murray and everyone else who'd been following the sequel's development had been telling him all this time. About Murray definitely, absolutely not participating in the project he's definitely, absolutely not participated in since its inception, Aykroyd says, "It's sad but we're passing it on to a new generation. Ghostbusters 3 can be a successful movie without Bill. My preference would be to have him involved but at this point he doesn't seem to be coming and we have to move on." Indeed, it would be pretty pathetic for someone to cling so desperately to the past like that. [via Coming Soon]
