Today in Bryan Cranston: Bryan Cranston to write and direct his own crime thriller

Bryan Cranston’s knack for imbuing even the slightest of projects with the comforting, bolstering essence of Cranston will be put to the ultimate test with a Cranston-directed adaptation of David Wiltse’s thriller Home Again. Cranston recently spoke about the project he’s developing with Breaking Bad producer Mark Johnson, calling the story of an ex-FBI agent who gets caught up in a murder-mystery in his hometown “basically a very strong father-son story,” as its central relationship involves the agent reconnecting with the estranged teenaged kid he’s so often left behind while out doing FBI things. Cranston previously wrote and directed the indie feature Last Chance in 1999, long before he had reached the current zenith of his powers.
