Today in news about which only gentlemanly things will be said: Lizzy Caplan joins Zooey Deschanel on New Girl
Giving us all another chance to demonstrate the charming gentility and restraint that would be attractive to women of their station, TV Line has announced that Lizzy Caplan will join the Internet’s other girlfriend Zooey Deschanel for a “multi-episode arc” on New Girl. According to the report, Caplan will play Julia, a romantic interest for Jake Johnson’s character Nick (the one that is probably going to realize he’s totally in love with Deschanel’s character in, what, season two?), and “a super-cool and highly educated gal who has a master’s degree in art history.” TV Line also continues that, while Johnson’s character will go through various levels of intimidation when faced with Caplan’s all-around cultured coolness, “It may be someone else who’s in for the bigger awakening,” in just the sort of open-ended, easily misconstrued, wink-wink statement that we were trying to avoid. Yes, thanks TV Line, we’re trying to have a civilization here.
