Today in puzzling remake news: Shoot Em Up director to direct remake of quasi-remake   

The pop culture universe comes one step closer to disappearing inside a post-modern wormhole with the announcement that Michael Davis will direct a remake of 1981's Outland, which was itself a quasi-remake of High Noon. Peter Hyams' 1981 space opera, which starred Sean Connery, doesn't have the world's best reputation but with Shoot Em Up Davis proved himself a director with a sharp eye and keen visual sense so we are, as always, cautiously optimistic.
