Today in things you already knew: Peter Jackson will direct The Hobbit, for real

In news that we thought had already been settled months ago, Deadline confirms its own confirmation that Peter Jackson is officially directing his two-part adaptation of The Hobbit. Apparently, Jackson helming the project was technically just an assumption until today, though that was slightly contradicted by his being at the center of every single decision (and disaster) that’s attended its production so far. Anyway, so now it’s a really-for-real done deal, and both films are still being planned for December 2012 and December 2013 release dates, barring any further delays. Check back tomorrow for further delays.
