Today's Trailer Happy Hour has Sean Penn in space and Peter Dinklage all alone

It only Tuesday, as America’s finest news source once said, and that’s as good a reason as any to duck out of our stuffy offices and celebrate Trailer Happy Hour a little early. Hey, it’s always Trailer Happy Hour somewhere, right? Anyway, today we’ve got a sad family going through some stuff, a team pulling a heist in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, a rebellion against the upper-class, a movie that looks much spookier than the Tiffany song it’s named after, a rockin’ biopic, and Sean Penn going to space. Let’s get to it!

This trailer for What They Had makes the movie look very heavy on “the feels.” It’s about a family reconnecting to deal with their mother’s mental decline, and it stars Hilary Swank, Michael Shannon, Blythe Danner, and Robert Forster. The trailer is kind of upbeat, but this is definitely the kind of movie that’s going to get sad. It comes out in October.

Cut Throat City was directed by RZA, but there isn’t nearly as much karate in this trailer as you’d expect from him. It’s actually a heist movie set in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and it stars Shameik Moore, Wesley Snipes, T.I., Kat Graham, and Terrence Howard. It’ll be in theaters next year.

Peterloo, I was defeated you won the war. Peterloo, promise to love you forever more. Peterloo, couldn’t escape if I wanted to. Peterloo, knowing my fate is to be with you. Peterloo, finally facing my Peterloo. Seriously, though, this is based on the 1819 Peterloo Massacre in England, during which the authorities killed a bunch of people who were protesting against mistreatment of the working class.

It’s kind of hard to judge this trailer for I Think We’re Alone Now, but the YouTube description explains that the movie is about Peter Dinklage as a man who thinks he’s all alone in the world (literally) until Elle Fanning crashes into his life (literally, by the looks of it).

Honestly, I don’t give a damn ‘bout this trailer for Bad Reputation. You’re living in the past, it’s a new generation. Do we need to go on? We already did a thing with song lyrics. This is a documentary about Joan Jett, and it’ll be in theaters on September 28.

Do you like melodramatic talk about the fate of mankind and our relative insignificance in the universe? Then this trailer for Hulu’s The First is for you. From House Of Cards’ Beau Willimon, the show stars Sean Penn as a guy trying to get his ass to Mars. Red rocks!
