Tom Bateman to play the vegan villain of Liam Neeson’s Hard Powder
In what just might be one of the sillier premises for a Liam Neeson movie, director Hans Petter Moland’s Hard Powder stars Neeson as an uptight snowplow driver in Colorado who begins a wintery quest for vengeance when his son is murdered by a local drug kingpin. This isn’t your typical snarling, brutish villain, though, as this drug kingpin is “a fastidious gangster who wears Tom Ford suits, is a vegan, drives a Tesla, and murders people.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Bateman has been cast as this villainous vegan, meaning he can probably look forward to watching Liam Neeson scratch up his beloved Tesla, rip up his Tom Ford suits, and pelt him in the face with some of the really primo snowballs he’s made in his work as a snowplow driver. Bateman has previously appeared in Da Vinci’s Demons and the British Jekyll & Hyde TV series. Also, the original plot description for this film mentioned the villain being a “Native American mafia boss,” but the Hollywood Reporter story makes it sound like Bateman’s baddie is now a separate character.
