Tom DeLonge's UFO organization seems to be having money problems, unless it's all a big conspiracy
According to a report from Ars Technica, the weird UFO research group/art collective co-founded by former Blink-182 member Tom DeLonge known as To The Stars Academy has dug itself a $37.4 million deficit, bringing its longterm viability as a weird UFO research group/art collective into question. The organization is trying to design high-tech spacecraft alongside alien-themed entertainment media, and its employees include legitimate space experts and retired government officials—the sort of people who would know about real-life alien conspiracies, in other words.
The Ars Technica report says that To The Stars has been keeping these people on board with a “stock incentive plan,” but a filing with the U.S. Securities And Exchange Commission says the group has only raised a little over $1 million from outside funding. This has led to that $37.4 million deficit, which To The Stars apparently intends to fix by selling more stock. That means you could not only own help Tom DeLonge get out of a jam, but you could also be on the forefront of a serious foray into alien research—well, as serious as theories about extraterrestrials visiting the ancient Greeks and sinking Atlantis can be.
Of course, some ill-conceived stock incentive plan may be the “official” reasoning for these financial troubles, but we all know this is actually part of a government-backed conspiracy to discredit DeLonge and To The Stars.
