Tom Lenk recreates a classic Buffy The Vampire Slayer look on his Instagram
For almost a year now, Buffy The Vampire Slayer co-star Tom Lenk—who played sensitive, semi-murderous fanboy Andrew Wells on the Joss Whedon show—has been doing #LenkLewkForLess on his Instagram, recreating ridiculous red carpet looks with common household objects. Lenk’s budget recreations of everybody from Sarah Jessica Parker to Queen Elizabeth II have drawn plenty of praise, including a recent write-up in The New York Times, but this week he’s going after the brass (or possibly The Bronze) ring herself: his old co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar.
In honor of the 20th anniversary of Buffy’s first episode, Lenk has done his own version of a classic press photo from the show, the famous one that shows the vulnerability and strength of Gellar’s Buffy as she peeks around a wall, stake firmly in hand. Lenk’s photo substitutes a plastic bottle for Buffy’s iconic weapon, but it’s still a pretty great version of the old shot; Gellar herself apparently agrees, reblogging it today from her own Instagram account.
