Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes producers Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark have picked up a spec script from newcomer Andy Burg titled Huck And Tom, which The Hollywood Reporter describes as “a re-imagining in the vein of Snow White And The Huntsman”—most likely in the sense that Burg didn’t have to pay anyone a thing to write it, and there will likely be another, competing Tom Sawyer/Huckleberry Finn reboot announced any day now. And while specific details are being kept under wraps, the story does concern the rambunctious youngsters as adults, while THR adds, “There also are supernatural elements to the script.” For example, the ghost of Mark Twain moans every time it’s opened.
