Tony Hale to menace musical rodents in Alvin And The Chipmunks: Road Chip
Tony Hale has signed on to play the bad guy in Alvin And The Chipmunks: Road Chip. Hale will be joined by Jason Lee and his trio of Chipmunks, voiced by Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler and Jesse McCartney. The fourth entry in the Chipmunks saga does not yet have an official plot description, but presumably involves a road trip of some sort.
Hale follows in the footsteps of Arrested Development co-star David Cross, who spent three movies being thwarted by the titular rodents and has expressed a somewhat low opinion of the overall experience. Currently starring in HBO’s Veep, Hale is also appearing in Kevin Smith’s Yoga Hosers, and will lend his voice to either a launchable bird or smashable pig in 2016’s Angry Birds movie. Alvin And The Chipmunks: Road Chip opens on Dec. 23, 2015.
