Topher Grace got a threatening phone call over BlacKkKlansman
In Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman, Topher Grace plays famous racist David Duke as a boring loser who sucks (making him not so different from the real David Duke), but for some reason, there are David Duke fans out there who aren’t particularly happy about the veracity of Grace’s performance. As reported by TMZ (via IndieWire), Grace has received an “angry and aggressive” phone call from someone recently who called him a “gay slur” and told him that his appearance in BlacKkKlansman is going to “ruin race relations in America.” Grace filed a police report on the call, which is how TMZ found out about it, and apparently there’s a possibility that the police will treat this as a hate crime investigation.
BlacKkKlansman is based on the true story of Ron Stallworth, a black detective who managed to infiltrate the Ku Klux Klan by posing as a racist white guy on the phone. It’s pretty good, assuming you don’t have a problem with Topher Grace making fun of a white supremacist for some reason.
