Trailer released for Apatow's Funny People
I'm a fan of Judd Apatow's first two features, as I'm sure many of you are. (Remember those heady days when every comment thread was hijacked with accusations of Judd Apatow paying The A.V. Club for positive endorsements? God I miss those.)
I enjoyed Knocked Up and The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Also: I like Seth Rogen AND Adam Sandler, horrible movies aside. And Jonah Hill can be funny. Jason Schwartzman is Max Fisher, so he gets a lifetime pass. Put 'em all together and what do you get? A long trailer for what looks to be a tug-at-the-heartstrings / life-is-too-short romantic comedy. Not only that, it appears to feature one of my greatest movie cliche/taboos: terminal illness. I fucking hate movies about terminal illness, whether the people live or die. It's so damn easy.
Anyway, go watch the Funny People trailer here. (We can't embed it.) Then come back and discuss. Tell me I'm wrong and that it's going to be awesome.
