Transformers morphs into cute mode in the Bumblebee trailer

The Transformers franchise is currently in the spin-off phase of its evolution, and it transforms into the shape of a heartwarming, E.T.-esque tale of a girl and her giant alien robot in the trailer for Bumblebee. Where the last few Transformers films can be best described as a series of loud metallic clanking sounds, this prequel to the original Transformers seems to be taking a softer, more Spielbergian “adventure for the whole family” approach. The cinematography is still dark as shit, though.

Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena star in Bumblebee, which is due in theaters this Christmas.
