Trent Reznor will not have anything to do with Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter after all

Those early reports that Trent Reznor might be following up his recent Oscar win for The Social Network with another composing gig on Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter—and perhaps more interestingly, acting as the vamp who kills Lincoln’s mom—have now been shot down by Reznor himself. Taking to the Nine Inch Nails message board, Reznor confirmed that he had been considering taking on the project at the time of the media leak but “hadn't made up my mind completely, because various aspects of the project were changing”—although he admitted he still felt the need to give credence to the rumor earlier in the week, as “at that moment I thought I would be doing it.” (He adds, “Confused yet? Apparently I am.”) Anyway, it’s a moot point now, as Reznor has confirmed he will be neither acting in nor scoring the film. In the meantime, Reznor seems to be fully concentrating on that new NIN material he promised as well as the previously announced Year Zero miniseries, about which he says he is “writing away.” Fine, but does it have any vampires? America likes vampires. [via Coming Soon]
