Trent Reznor's How To Destroy Angels signs to Columbia, plans a new EP
How To Destroy Angels, Trent Reznor’s latest non-Nine Inch Nails group, has officially signed to Columbia Records. A new EP, An Omen, will be released Nov. 13 digitally and on LP, followed by a full-length that should arrive sometime next spring. The band including Reznor’s wife, Mariqueen Maandig, his frequent soundtrack collaborator Atticus Ross, and Rob Sheridan released its last EP in 2010.
While Reznor’s been critical of the major label system in the past, he posted a letter on the band’s Facebook page today explaining the decision. “It really comes down to us experimenting and trying new things to see what best serves our needs,” he says, noting he’ll probably give a more “granular and rambling” answer in an interview somewhere down the road.
