Trump fan tells Hannibal Buress to “talk about Broad City,” gets booted from his show
Hannibal Buress kicked a disgruntled Trump supporter out of his New York show last night, once again raising the question of what the fuck people actually expect to get when they go to see obviously liberal comedians. There’s audio of the whole incident, but the details go like this: Buress was in a slightly rambling bit about Trump’s age and WWE ties when the person in question, a woman, interrupted, saying, “talk about Broad City,” a show that Hillary Clinton was actually on. The crowd immediately turned on her, as did Buress, who told her to “get the fuck out” and enlisted security to remove her from the premises.
After she was removed, Buress told the audience, “I’m not even that mad at all. I just wanted to set a tone and a precedent,” noting that he doesn’t take requests. He went on to rail against “white lady entitlement,” especially considering his show was an impromptu event. She’d be better off, he said, setting up a Google alert for Broad City, or even looking up a Broad City podcast.

This isn’t the first time this year that befuddled Trump supporters have felt alienated at a comedy show. In October, about 200 people walked out of an Amy Schumer show in Florida after she went off on a rant about the future president, aptly calling him an “orange, sexual assaulting, fake-college-starting monster.” Schumer later issued a sarcastic apology, saying “I’m sorry you didn’t want me, a comedian who talks about what she believes in, to mention the biggest thing going on in our country right now.”
