Trump forces FDA researchers to watch Fox News

Donald Trump’s love of Fox News has been well established by now, with the (ugh) president showing the kind of unthinking devotion that would lead him to rely on the cable news outlet in place of daily intelligence briefings. But his administration is now imposing that admiration on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, whose employees at the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) are reportedly being forced to watch Fox News. The Daily Dot picked up on a tweet from a freelance science journalist, who’d gotten his hands on an email sent to CBER employees that explained all on-site TVs would be tuned to Fox News from now on. A BuzzFeed reporter got separate confirmation on the “all-Fox-News, all-the-time” mandate:

The email was sent by some FDA/CBER higher-up, who indicated that the order had come down from on high, where Trump officials are ignoring all signs that the network is going up in flames. That’s presumably because Trump’s just watched a Fox News report telling him the outlet is thriving, and we all know how seriously he takes those.
