Tupac Shakur has a screenplay in development
Continuing to make other dead people look like lazy sons of bitches, Tupac Shakur now has a screenplay slated for production next year. Live 2 Tell—which Shakur wrote a long time ago, a real long time ago, while he was serving his 1995 prison sentence—is the story of a teenage drug lord trying to escape his life of crime, a timeless tale that first caught the attention of Tupac: Resurrection producer Preston Holmes back when Shakur was still publicly alive, and he’s been trying to develop it ever since. Now, with the cooperation of his Hustle And Flow co-producer Dwight Williams and Shakur’s mother, it seems as though that decade-plus of development will finally bring the film to fruition, which could lead to an exciting new direction for Shakur’s posthumous career.
