TV Club announces fall schedule, death of hope for all you Guys With Kids super-fans

So it’s come to this.

The A.V. Club once again wishes to welcome you to our fall TV coverage, in which we will be covering several dozen series, new and returning, on a regular basis, each episode receiving our patented episodic review treatment, the sort that Hollywood has come to fear. (Okay, the sort that Hollywood is basically unaware of, but the sort that we like to think is really super-impressive.) In fact, some of those series are returning tonight! We’re adding fewer new series this year than we did last year, but we’re also bringing back lots and lots of your favorites (and some of the ones you’re less excited by). As always, we’ll be giving new shows six episodes before we make any ultimate calls on them—and this year, we’ll be reviewing both the first and the seventh episode of the new network shows we don’t add, just in case Chicago Fire somehow turns into the greatest show in history while you’re not watching.

Anyway, here’s our schedule, complete with times, return dates, and the people covering these shows. An asterisk indicates a show we dropped coverage of, but will be re-adding. Plain boldface indicates a show that’s new to our regular coverage schedule. Shows we already cover that will extend into at least October have been included as well. All times are Eastern. Expect a TV Club Classic schedule for the fall and winter in late October.
