Tween comedian mocks Donald Trump on America’s Got Talent

The new season of America’s Got Talent is in the auditions stage, so its panel of judges with varying degrees of talent—Simon Cowell, Mel B., Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel—are separating the acrobatic wheat from the tone-deaf chaff. Stand-up comedy is among the talents that contestants profess to have, and last night, a young amateur comic made the most of the opportunity by working a little political commentary into her routine. 13-year-old Lori Mae Hernandez isn’t even in high school yet, but she just burned Donald Trump on national television.

The tween comedian shared some observational humor about how cavalier parents really are when they entrust the care of their children to people who are still riding around in car seats. She questioned her own suitability as a babysitter, joking that her only real qualification is the fact that she used to be a baby/child. This led her to musing that getting sick a lot doesn’t mean you should become a doctor, nor does hosting a popular NBC reality TV series mean you’re cut out to be President of the United States. We tend to agree—Trump needs at least one sports hero biopic under his belt before he can be taken seriously as a candidate.
