Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke to bring her vampire expertise to CW's The Lost Boys
The Vampire Diaries’ undead corpse is barely cold, and its universe has continued on in spin-off Legacies, but The CW wouldn’t be The CW if it didn’t have a vampire show, which is presumably why it announced back in January that it’s picking up a pilot based on sexy/cool ‘80s vampire movie The Lost Boys. Now, according to Deadline, the show will be getting a bit of a sexy/cool vampire pedigree thanks to Twilight’s Catherine Hardwicke, who will be directing the pilot. That first Twilight movie wasn’t necessarily great, but like the original Lost Boys, it certainly has a fervent following. That could be a good combination for The CW, which butters its bread with fervent followings.
The show will be about a pair of brothers who move with their mother back to her hometown in California, with one of the brothers developing a friendship with a woman who happens to be dating the “sexy, dangerous” leader of a vampire gang. The Lost Boys pilot will star Kiele Sanchez, Tyler Posey, Medalion Rahimi, and Dakota Shapiro.
